Job summary

Cater Plus is seeking a friendly Weekend Afternoon Catering Assistant to join Shalom Rest Home's catering team in Northland. You will help prepare, serve, and deliver meals to residents, support meal presentation, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment during weekend services.

You will work closely with the Catering Manager and care team to ensure meals meet high standards, follow food safety and health and safety procedures, and provide friendly, professional service to residents,

Qualifications

Be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Have excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
Take pride in maintaining high hygiene and food safety standards.
Enjoy working as part of a team and supporting others.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation and meal presentation.
Prepare, serve, and deliver meals to residents.
Collect and clear dishes following meal services and wash dishes.
Maintain high cleaning standards throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
Remove rubbish and keep work areas clean and hazard-free.
Replenish kitchen and dining room supplies as required.
Support the smooth operation of the kitchen and dining service.
Follow food safety, infection control, and health and safety procedures.
Provide friendly, respectful, and professional service to residents, visitors, and colleagues.
