Overview

General Labourers & Trade Assistants – Rural Waikato
Tradestaff is looking for reliable, hard-working General Labourers and Trade Assistants to join a commercial solar farm project in the Waikato. This project starts in the next few weeks and runs through into 2026, so we need people who can commit for the duration and turn up every day.

What you’ll be doing

• Assisting with the set-up and installation of a solar farm
• General labouring tasks outdoors in all weather
• Heavy lifting and physical work – upper body strength required

Pay rates: $27–$29/hr depending on skills, role, and experience

Locations (approx. travel times from key towns):

• 49 mins from Hamilton
• 20 mins from Morrinsville
• 24 mins from Matamata
• 51 mins from Thames
• 53 mins from Huntly
• 44 mins from Cambridge
• 50 mins from Putaruru

What you’ll need

• Photo ID (no exceptions)
• CV and 2 recent work references we can call about your work history, attitude, and reliability
• Your own reliable transport and at least a restricted driver’s licence
• Fit, strong, and able to lift heavy objects
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and consent to ongoing random testing
