Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand seeks a Water Installer in Wellington to join a leading civil contractor installing and maintaining essential water infrastructure across the region. Immediate start available with competitive hourly pay based on experience.

You will install and maintain water reticulation networks, lay and connect water mains, repair leaks, and work from site plans. Candidates with relevant experience, a Class 1 licence, and the ability to read plans will excel.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in water reticulation or civil construction.
• Full Class 1 Driver Licence (Class 2 and WTR endorsements advantageous).
• Experience operating around underground services.
• Ability to read plans and work to specifications.
• Strong work ethic and reliable, team-focused attitude.
• Good level of physical fitness.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain water reticulation networks.
• Lay and connect water mains and service pipes.
• Repair water leaks and replace damaged pipework.
• Install valves, hydrants, meters, and associated fittings.
• Excavate and prepare trenches for water infrastructure works.
• Read and work from site plans and specifications.
• Work safely around excavators and other civil plant.
• Carry out pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning of new pipelines.
• Maintain a safe and tidy worksite while following health and safety procedures.

Pay rate: $30–$38 per hour, depending on experience, with weekly pay
