Job description
Overview

Our friendly Three Waters Operations team are seeking a Water Operator in a full time permanent capacity. Water is a critical part of our community and our environment. As a Water Operator, you will work alongside a small close-knit team that operates the Invercargill Water Treatment Plant (Branxholme) and associated reservoirs and pumping stations in an efficient, safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the monitoring and inspection of the Council water pumping station and reservoirs
  • Operate the Water Treatment Plant in accordance with ICC procedures and ensure treated water is of consistent quality to meet the current NZ Drinking Water Standard and Quality Assurance Rules
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations and callouts in a timely manner to minimise disruption and prevent deterioration of treatment plant process
  • Undertake regular inspections and preventative maintenance as necessary to ensure the efficient performance of plant and equipment
  • Liaise with customers, colleagues and maintenance contractors as required
