Job summary

Christchurch City Council is seeking a Project Manager for the Wastewater Delivery Team within the Three Waters Unit to lead a broad capital works programme across Christchurch and Banks Peninsula.

You'll manage all phases from initiation through design, procurement, construction and handover, collaborating with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver high-value wastewater infrastructure for growing communities. Based at Te Hononga, occasional travel may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
• Extensive experience in wastewater projects including treatment, pump stations, odour control and reticulation.
• Proven ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders, suppliers, consultants and contractors.
• Experience in procuring, tendering, evaluation and award of design contracts (NZS3910/NZS3916).
• Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all key phases of the project lifecycle from initiation to handover.
• Control scope, time, cost, and quality.
• Work with consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
• Based at Te Hononga 53 Hereford Street Christchurch with occasional travel.
