Wastewater Network Delivery Engineer

Employment Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Up to £37,000 per annum based on experience

Location: South Coast - We require x1 Delivery Engineer based in Kent and x1 Delivery Engineer based in either Kent, Sussex, Hampshire or IOW

The successful applicant must have a full UK driving licence.

About the Role

Are you ready to make a real impact in wastewater operations? We're looking for a proactive and technically minded Delivery Engineer to join our Wastewater Networks team. You'll play a key role in ensuring our reactive maintenance service partners deliver high-quality, cost-effective work that meets Southern Water's standards and keeps our sewer network running smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Oversee and govern work requests from service partners and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with customer case teams, planners, engineers, and contractors to resolve issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and strategic incentives.
  • Monitor contractor performance, compliance, and health & safety standards.
  • Review job volumes, costs, and escalate high-value or delayed cases.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including customers, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Ensure timely delivery of work orders and manage backlogs.
  • Provide cover for other regional engineers during absences.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong technical understanding of sewer networks and the implications of work required to address asset failures, along with repair techniques.
  • Knowledge of NRSWA, CDM regulations, and health & safety risks.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to interpret management data and balance customer needs with cost efficiency.
  • Collaborative, resilient, and able to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
