Job summary

New Zealand gastropub in the Bay of Plenty is seeking three experienced bartenders with proven bar skills, excellent customer service, and a professional approach. The role requires hands-on beverage knowledge across cocktails, beer, wine and spirits and the ability to deliver consistent service in a busy hospitality setting.

Responsibilities include preparing and serving drinks, managing stock, operating POS systems, and strict adherence to NZ alcohol-service standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of genuine bartending experience.
• Demonstrated practical experience preparing cocktails and serving beer, wine and spirits.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain efficient service during busy periods.
• Professional approach and positive attitude.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
• Applicants should be able to provide evidence supporting their relevant work experience where required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Deliver professional, friendly and consistent customer service.
• Demonstrate knowledge of beverage menus, ingredients and cocktail preparation.
• Operate POS systems and accurately process customer payments.
• Monitor beverage stock and assist with inventory control.
• Assist with ordering and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
• Keep the bar, equipment and service areas clean and organized.
• Apply responsible alcohol service practices and NZ requirements.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Complete cash-handling duties accurately.
• Work collaboratively with the hospitality team during busy service periods.
