Job summary

Re-Leased, a NZ/ANZ SaaS real estate platform, seeks a VP, Embedded Finance to own the global embedded finance portfolio. You will set strategy across markets and lead with program managers while partnering with Expansion, Onboarding, Sales, Product and Customer to deliver revenue, margin and growth.

You’ll drive regulatory navigation, partner deals, and productization from concept to live, using data-driven approaches and a commercial mindset to scale payments and insurance offerings worldwide.

Your Role

We're looking for a VP, Embedded Finance to own Re-Leased's embedded finance portfolio globally, reporting directly to the President. You'll set our global strategy, adapt it to the rails and economics of each market, and deliver it through a team of program managers and close partnership with the business.

This role is about results through influence. You set the direction, the priorities and the targets; leaders across Expansion, Onboarding, Sales, Product and Customer bring the teams and capacity to execute. Much of what moves your numbers sits in teams you don't manage, so you'll lead through credibility, clarity and commercial judgement rather than the org chart.

You'll be the person Re-Leased looks to when the question is "what's happening withour payments and insurance products?"

This role could be based anywhere in Australia or New Zealand and comes with a global remit.

Your Responsibilities

• Own the global Re-Leased Pay strategy, with region and segment plans that reflect different payment rails (card, ACH, direct debit), market economics and value propositions
• Drive Pay attachment across the customer base and lifecycle, including KYC completion, payment usage and volume
• Own Pay revenue and margin against target, balancing volume growth with transaction economics, and keep rebate and revenue-share mechanics commercially sound as Pay scales
• Take Tenant Deposit Insurance from concept to a live product with underwriting partner(s), including distribution strategy and revenue share agreements that make economic sense
• Navigate the regulatory considerations of insurance-adjacent products, including the distinction between recommending and presenting insurance options
• Stay close to our customers and the flow of funds in our ecosystem to spot the next embedded finance opportunities, and take them from idea through research, partner selection, build and commercialisation using a robust qualification framework
• Lead a team of program managers, each owning a specific lever (for example, growing US credit card volume through loyalty and rewards partnerships): set the portfolio of levers, give each a measurable target, manage performance, and make the call on outsourcing versus hiring
• Represent Re-Leased with payment providers, loyalty and rewards partners and insurers/underwriters, structuring deals that grow volume and protect margin, and building the partner pipeline ahead of need
• Present embedded finance performance, metrics, margin and market insight to the President, CEO and board, and own a consistent, credible embedded finance narrative across the company
• Use data, not instinct, to decide where the function focuses

Your Experience

• 5-10 years of driving business outcomes through influence rather than control
• Direct accountability for a P&L, or a revenue and margin number, ideally with experience presenting to a board and operating autonomously day to day
• A track record of understanding complex business systems and distilling them into simple messages and narratives
• Comfortable using AI-native workflows, and you think in terms of augmentation, automation and agents rather than one-off tools
• Experience running a payments or embedded payments business line, ideally in a SaaS or marketplace setting
• Hands-on experience with attach, onboarding/KYC and usage mechanics
• Regulatory experience in payments or insurance-adjacent products
• A track record of structuring and managing partner deals
• Experience building a new product line from zero
• Experience across multiple markets (US, UK and ANZ preferred)
• Commercially minded: you understand embedded finance as a core driver of company scale and margin, not just volume
• A confident executive who owns outcomes that depend on teams you don't manage
• Curious and always asking why, staying current on payments, fintech regulation and the property industry
• Resilient and pragmatic: you fail fast, embrace change, and balance building something new with running something live
