Job summary

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is seeking a Volunteer Home Visiting Coordinator in Taranaki for a fixed-term role through December 2028. The position is 11-12 hours per week with a pay rate of $29.90 per hour.

You will coordinate a home visiting programme, recruiting and supporting volunteers and connecting whānau with community resources. You’ll work alongside clinical and Community Services teams, building relationships with whānau and volunteers, coordinating referrals, and ensuring the service is

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in community services, coordination or community development in not-for-profit, social services or health-related organisation.
• Experience building community relationships and recruiting, guiding and encouraging volunteers.
• Organised, able to balance referrals, administration and changing priorities.
• Comfortable using Microsoft 365, Teams and digital tools.
• Commitment to equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with whānau, volunteers and local organisations.
• Coordinate referrals, volunteer matching and ongoing support.
• Identify barriers to participation and help reach whānau experiencing inequities.
• Respond to concerns promptly with the wider team support.
• Use feedback and programme data to improve delivery and demonstrate impact.
