Job summary

Great South Vets in Auckland, New Zealand, has a position available for a suitably qualified Veterinarian to join our team on a 40-hour week full-time basis. No Saturday, Sunday, Public Holiday or evening work.

To be successful you must have a Veterinary Surgeon Degree, be fully registered with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand, and demonstrate a high standard of care and communication for patients and clients. Proficiency in English is essential, with other languages considered an advantage.

Qualifications

• Have a Veterinary Surgeon Degree, or equivalent.
• Are fully registered with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand.
• Demonstrate a high standard of care and communication for patients and clients.
• Have good communication in the English language. Any other language would be an added advantage.
• Be punctual and have a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Patient handling and IV catheter placement.
• Prep patient for surgery and perform some surgical procedures.
• Administration of medications.
• Assist in anaesthetic monitoring.
• On-going advice to clients on improving animal health and welfare.
• Delivery of vaccination programs.
• De-sexing education.
• Ensure billings has been done accordance with appropriate protocol.
• Learn about our animal products for sale.
• Assist clinical members.
• Gain experience.
