At our Lincoln clinic, we pride ourselves on a collaborative, caring culture that places both pets and people at the heart of everything we do. We’re currently looking for two amazing individuals to join our growing team – a full-time or part-time experienced vet nurse (at a senior level) for 3-5 days per week, and a full-time experienced vet nurse working Monday to Friday. Both roles will also work a 1:5 rotating Saturday clinic roster.

About the Roles:

Role A - This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned nurse with minimum of 3+ years of experience to help guide our nursing team and ensure every patient gets the best possible care. You’ll be confident in handling emergency cases, mentoring junior staff, and working closely with the Clinic Coordinator and our wider network of clinics across Canterbury. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of clinic initiatives, conduct individual staff performance reviews, and collaborate effectively as a key member of the clinic leadership team.

Role B - This part-time (37 hours per week) role is ideal for a qualified veterinary nurse with 1+ years’ post-diploma working experience looking to grow in a clinic that values learning, teamwork, and delivering exceptional patient care. You’ll work across a variety of responsibilities with a team who will support you every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver compassionate, expert care, including administering medications and anaesthesia.
  • Monitor patient recovery and respond to changes in their condition.
  • Assist in surgeries, ensuring the smooth running of procedures.
  • Support pet parents by explaining treatment plans and post-care advice clearly and confidently.
  • Share your skills and knowledge to mentor and guide team members.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and clinic staff to optimise workflows and deliver seamless care.
  • Keep things running smoothly by managing supplies and maintaining accurate records.
What You’ll Bring
  • New Zealand working rights.
  • A Diploma of Veterinary Nursing plus 3+ years working experience for Role A, and 1+ years’ experience for Role B.
  • Confidence in administering anaesthesia, monitoring patients, and clearly explaining treatment plans to pet parents.
  • A warm, approachable personality that makes both customers and colleagues feel valued and supported.
  • Exceptional communication skills, ensuring smooth collaboration with your team and clarity for pet parents.
  • A strong sense of compassion and empathy, treating every patient as if they were your own.
  • A team-first mindset, thriving in a collaborative environment where everyone supports each other.
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset, eager to embrace new skills and advancements in veterinary care.
  • Reliability and professionalism, ensuring your work is consistent, accurate, and of the highest standard.
  • A true commitment to delivering outstanding care that strengthens the bond between pets and their people.
