Overview

Opportunity for an Experienced Small Animal Vet to join our team at Hornby Veterinary Centre – Christchurch on a fixed term parental leave contract September 2025 until May 2026.

We are a large multi vet clinic, our experienced team each have complementary areas of special interest, and are support by skilled nurses

Our clinic is purpose built, and contains a comprehensive arsenal of up-to-date equipment. This includes the IDEXX in-house laboratory suite & SediVue, iM3 dentistry with radiography & Vet-tome, various orthopaedic kits (AO and ESF systems), ultrasound and digital radiography, endoscopes, ECG, fluid pumps and warmers, syringe pumps, and Smartflow patient management.

We support a genuine work life balance – limited back up after hours cover, as we are a member of the Christchurch After-hours Clinic, weekend work is shared- Saturday only! We encourage all staff to pursue professional development both in-house and externally.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Small Animal Vet with at least 5 years clinical experience, BVSc qualified with NZ Vet Council Registration.

The ideal candidate will be a dedicated team player, be proficient in both general surgery and confident with everyday consultations, be willing to provide and receive support from other staff and provide exceptional patient care.
