Job summary

Madison Recruitment in Wellington, New Zealand, is seeking a reliable Vegetable Harvester to join a unique, self-sustained farm near Featherston. This full-time, outdoor role suits someone with rural or horticultural experience who enjoys working independently and as part of a small team.

Responsibilities include harvesting vegetables, planting crops, operating tractors, and general farm maintenance. Training is provided, with a 7:30am–4:00pm schedule and a competitive hourly rate.

  • Genuine interest in growing and producing crops.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Strong work ethic, honesty and reliability.

Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in seeing things grow, and isn't afraid of hard work? We have an opportunity for a reliable and self-motivated Vegetable Harvester to join our team on a unique, self-sustained farm property near Featherston. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a rural background, horticultural experience, or practical farming knowledge who enjoys working independently and contributing to a close-knit team.

About the Role

No two weeks are the same. While vegetable harvesting forms a large part of your work, you'll also assist with a variety of farm and horticultural activities across the property.

  • Planting crops on a regular schedule
  • Operating tractors and a tipper truck (full training provided)
  • General garden and farm maintenance
  • Supporting wider farm activities as required
About the Role

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in horticulture, farming, agriculture, or a related rural industry
  • A genuine interest in growing and producing crops
  • The ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Strong work ethic, honesty, and reliability
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive manual tasks
  • A positive attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed

You’ll be comfortable taking direction, managing your workload, and getting the job done without constant supervision.
