Job summary

Auckland Council is seeking a Senior Advisor to lead value-for-money reviews and drive performance improvements. You will work with senior leaders, elected members and cross-functional teams to turn complex data into actionable recommendations and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' experience in analytical/ advisory roles.
• Experience in financial, commercial, procurement, property or business performance environments.
• Strong project delivery skills and ability to apply project methodologies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication with clear storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support value for money reviews across Council and CCOs.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, service quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Analyse data from multiple sources to generate meaningful insights.
• Prepare clear reports, presentations and advice for senior leaders and elected members.
• Manage project deliverables to scope, budget and timelines.
• Facilitate workshops and discussions to support problem-solving and decision-making.
• Build relationships across the Council Group with finance, procurement, legal and risk teams.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and organisational excellence.
