Play a key role in the acquisition of digital collections for the Alexander Turnbull Library

Contribute to the continuous improvement of tools and workflows to support the management of digital collections

Work collaboratively with teams across the Library, and engage with international communities of practice.

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Alexander Turnbull Library’s Digital Collections Services team. In this role you will work closely with curators to acquire digital collections, provide advice on transfer and migration, and carry out technical appraisal and ingest activities.

Working with the Senior Digital Archivist, you will provide advice, training, and support on digital collecting policies and procedures. You will also work with colleagues across the Library to improve tools, workflows and systems for the management of digital collections and to keep abreast of new developments in the field of digital preservation.

This role will also be part of a team with responsibility for day-to-day systems management of the Turnbull Library’s collections management system.

To be successful in the role you will have:

A post graduate qualification in the field of librarianship or archival studies, or demonstrated relevant experience

Experience with the management of born-digital records and a confidence with technology

A high level of analytical and problem-solving skills

An ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with your team and the wider business.
