Overview

Consultant Urologist – Whangārei, Northland, New Zealand – We are looking for a Consultant Urologist to join the Surgical Department at Whangārei.

We are seeking a skilled Consultant to provide safe, efficient and effective urology services to the Northland community. This role is predominantly based in Whangārei, but includes occasional travel to rural areas including Kaitaia on a rostered basis. There is an on-call roster split between consultants and you will also need to participate in the supervision and teaching of resident medical officers within the urology service.

Whangārei has the largest hospital in Northland providing secondary care services, supported by three regional hospitals in Kaitaia, Kawakawa, and Dargaville. Northland covers a 12,600 square kilometre area with a growing population of more than 190,000. It is located near Auckland, with a two-hour drive or a 25-minute flight from the international hub.

Qualifications
  • Must have or be eligible for specialist/vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a Urology vocational scope of practice.
