Job summary

Northern Health School in Kerikeri is seeking a Unit Leader to guide the Mid North school unit, overseeing an established team of teachers delivering learner-centered programmes for akonga whose health impacts attendance.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, fully registered teacher with deep knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and culturally responsive pedagogy. Knowledge of Te Ao Māori is beneficial; leadership experience is an asset.

Northern Health School is a Ministry of Education funded school that provides education and transition support foryear 0-14 students whilstill health prevents them attending their regular school. School management and administration is predominantly based in Auckland with school units in centres throughout the north island from Kaitaia to Gisborne, Taupo and Taranaki.

We seek a Unit Leader to lead our Mid North school unit based in Kerikeri, leading an established team of teachers who are committed to delivering learner focused programmes for ākonga whose health impacts their ability to attend school fulltime

The successful applicant will be an experienced, fully registered teacher with a highly developed knowledge of school curriculum, including culturally responsive pedagogy, as an excellent understanding and practical application of theNew Zealand Curriculumis critical for this role. An ability to support students with Te Ao Māori would be beneficial. Recent leadership experience or experience teaching in a health school setting would be considered an asset.

A full NZ driving licence is essential for this position.
