Job summary

New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA) in Hamilton seeks a Uniformed Services Tutor to guide learners through our 18-week Pre-Police and Uniformed Services programme. You’ll coach physical, technical and professional skills drawing on your service experience, building confidence and teamwork.

You’ll deliver engaging, practical sessions, mentor students from diverse backgrounds and help align the programme with industry needs to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Solid background in the uniformed services and passion for developing learners.
• Positive, engaging communicator who connects with youth and values diversity.
• Willingness to mentor and coach students toward success in future careers.
• Teaching or mentoring experience is an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead physical training sessions to build confidence, discipline and teamwork.
• Mentor and support students from diverse backgrounds, tracking progress.
• Share industry knowledge to strengthen the programme and align with industry needs.
• Improve student success rates across the Defence forces.
