Job summary

Zurich Insurance in New Zealand is seeking an experienced underwriter to shape the Financial Lines portfolio and support the growth of the Liability line across the region. You will work to build trusted broker and partner relationships while ensuring underwriting decisions align with guidelines and customer needs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes, using data and underwriting tools to inform decisions and drive sustainable portfolio performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in underwriting within Financial Lines, Liability or related areas.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with sound commercial judgement.
• Ability to manage a portfolio, make informed decisions and work within clear frameworks.

In this role, you'll help shape the future of our Financial Lines portfolio across New Zealand by identifying opportunities for growth and supporting a strong, customer-centered underwriting culture. In order to be successful, you will have the following:

• Experience in underwriting or broking within Financial Lines, Liability or related areas
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with sound commercial judgement
• Ability to manage a portfolio, make informed decisions and work within clear frameworks
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with brokers, partners and internal teams
• Confidence using technology, data and underwriting tools to support decision-makingClear communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
