Job Description

Deliver inductions and training for the Waihi Operations that meet or exceed both regulatory and internal Occupational Health, Safety & Training compliance requirements and ensures all personnel are trained, competent and authorised within their defined roles. Assist with the development and continuous improvement of policies and procedures for the Waihi Operations.

  • Delivery of underground training and assessment packages to ensure all personnel are trained, competent and authorised within their defined roles.
  • Delivery of new starter and refresher inductions.
  • Development of new training packages and updating existing packages as required.
  • Utilise INX Intuition to monitor training needs analysis performance.
  • Assist with the coordination of external training requirements as required
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure course requirements / availability is clearly communicated.
Qualifications
  • Workplace training and assessment qualifications. (Mandatory)
  • Qualifications in Health and Safety Management (Desirable)
  • Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles (Mandatory)
  • Minimum of five (5) years mining experience in operational role/s.
  • Demonstrated Health, Safety and Training experience within the mining environment.
  • Underground mining equipment operator experience.
  • A high degree of computer literacy, inclusive of training software packages.
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of current health and safety legislation, AS/NZ Standards and relevant Codes of Practice.
  • Effective report writing, presentation preparation and verbal communication skills.
