Job summary

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau is seeking a motivated Patient Care Assistant to join the ultrasound team at Manukau Health Park. You will support patient flow and help patients feel comfortable throughout their visit.

Working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week on a fixed-term basis to April 2027, you will collaborate with Sonographers, Radiologists and clerical staff, provide blankets, prepare rooms, and assist with post-examination information and notes.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Positive, flexible and team-oriented approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Checking patient details and assisting with patient flow.
• Ensuring patients are comfortable during their visit (e.g., providing blankets, adjusting beds).
• Assisting patients after examinations and providing information about obtaining results.
• Maintaining clean, tidy and stocked linen cupboards, tables and beds.
