Job summary

Meadow Fresh site in Christchurch, part of Goodman Fielder, seeks a Production Operator/General Hand to join the UHT Department. You’ll work a rotating 4 on/4 off roster with day and night shifts, earning wages from NZD 30.34 per hour plus shift allowances, along with superannuation and health benefits.

The role involves overseeing the dairy manufacturing process, monitoring equipment, coordinating with departments, troubleshooting issues and implementing improvements.

Qualifications

• Good aptitude and literacy (numerical and computer skills).
• Willingness to learn and develop.
• Previous diary experience in UHT ideal.
• Previous FMCG experience preferred.
• Machine operation experience advantageous.
• A level of mechanical aptitude desired.
• Honesty and effective communication.
• Ability to follow good manufacturing practices.
• Physically capable of carrying 20kgs.
• Exceptional team player.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the manufacturing process to ensure UHT products are produced efficiently, safely and to quality standards.
• Monitor equipment and coordinate with different departments to troubleshoot issues.
• Implement process improvements to drive productivity.
• Operate machinery used in dairy manufacturing.
• Address mechanical issues promptly to prevent downtime and maintain productivity.
• Work in a physically demanding role requiring standing and heavy lifting.
