Job summary

T&G Fresh, part of T&G Global, invites applications for a reliable Truck Driver (Class 2) to support our Alexandra harvest season. You will safely transport cherries between orchard sites and the packhouse, while also assisting with orchard, harvest and packhouse tasks as needed.

We value a current NZ Class 2 licence, good communication, and a strong focus on health and safety. Forklift experience is preferred but not essential; extended hours may be required during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Current New Zealand Class 2 Driver Licence.
• Forklift Licence or F Endorsement preferred but not essential.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak harvest periods.
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist across different areas of the operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 2 truck safely and professionally.

• Complete vehicle safety checks and report maintenance issues.
• Ensure fruit is loaded, secured, and transported carefully to maintain quality.
• Support loading and unloading activities, including forklift operation where qualified.

About us

For over 125 years, T&G Fresh has nourished generations of Kiwis with fresh fruit and vegetables. We grow, pack, market, sell, distribute, import, and export fresh produce from our own orchards and farms, as well as from over 700 Kiwi growers.

Hinton's Orchard is based in Alexandra and spans 120 hectares, one of New Zealand's largest stonefruit orchards. Hinton's is a long-standing fruit growing business known for producing premium cherries, apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums, and peacharines for consumers in New Zealand and across Asia.

Join T&G Global this cherry season and play a key role in helping deliver premium fruit from our orchards to the packhouse. We're looking for a reliable and safety-focused Truck Driver (Class 2) to support our harvest operations in Alexandra.

About the Opportunity

As a Truck Driver, you'll safely transport harvested cherries between orchard sites and the packhouse, ensuring fruit arrives on time and in excellent condition. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll also assist with orchard, harvest, and packhouse activities when transport duties are not required

About You

You will be a dependable team player who enjoys practical, hands-on work and can thrive in a fast-paced seasonal environment, you'll bring:

• Forklift Licence or F Endorsement (Preferred but not essential)

• Strong health and safety awareness.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

• Willingness to work extended hours during peak harvest periods.

• A positive attitude and willingness to assist across different areas of the operation.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have

• Experience operating tractors or horticultural equipment.

• Previous experience in horticulture, agriculture, transport, or seasonal operations.
