Job summary

Queen Margaret College in Wellington seeks a Geography/Humanities Teacher to deliver IB MYP Humanities, Geography, and senior courses through to NCEA Level 3. You will design differentiated programmes, use data to inform instruction, and collaborate within a positive Humanities and Social Sciences team.

Responsibilities include co‑curricular involvement, ongoing professional learning, and departmental duties while contributing to the wider life of the school.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the NZ Teaching Council.
• Strong competence in curriculum delivery, assessment and reporting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and families.
• Strong organisation and time‑management skills, including planning, reporting and meeting school expectations.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development and maintaining up‑to‑date subject expertise.
• Understanding of cultural diversity and commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
• Commitment to child protection, professional boundaries, and safer recruitment practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching across IB MYP Humanities, Geography, and senior courses through to NCEA Level 3.
• Design and deliver differentiated programmes and use assessment data to inform teaching.
• Contribute to the development of innovative learning experiences within a collaborative Humanities and Social Sciences team.
• Actively participate in co‑curricular activities, professional learning, and departmental responsibilities.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of Queen Margaret College.
