Sexual Violence Support and Prevention Centre
Te Whare Tāwharau is the University of Otago’s dedicated sexual violence and intimate partner violence education support and prevention centre. Our small, close-knit team works collaboratively to address sexual violence and intimate partner violence issues across campus, combining compassion and professionalism to meet the diverse needs of those accessing our services. We provide comprehensive support to survivors, including advocacy and assistance tailored to individual circumstances. Our Peer Support Volunteer training programme empowers students to provide empathetic, informed peer support. In addition, we offer a variety of prevention and education programmes to staff and students, fostering a campus culture of respect and safety. To maintain and enhance the quality of our services, we evaluate our initiatives, to ensure our practices are evidence-based and contribute to broader advancements in prevention and response strategies beyond our university community.
As Manager, Training and Development, you will oversee prevention and education programmes, enhance the Peer Support Volunteer Programme, support survivors of sexual violence and intimate partner violence, and lead recruitment, onboarding, and training for facilitators and volunteers. We are seeking someone with at least a degree-level qualification in social service, public health, law, education, or related field with in-depth expertise in sexual and intimate partner violence. This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent role, located in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.
The appointment range for this role is $80,749 to $85,649, Top of Range $100,776 per annum.
