Overview

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively to carry out maintenance, repair and upgrades to rail infrastructure
  • Training will include classroom learning, on-the-job training and practical experience to gain knowledge and confidence
  • Operate tools and minor equipment under supervision, gaining competency as you progress
  • An active, physical role where teamwork and safety come first
  • Be prepared to work shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Monday to Sunday, 80 hours per fortnight, on a rotational roster
  • A clean NZ Driver’s License – Class 1 is essential in this role
  • A team player who communicates openly and respectfully
  • Safety focused and the courage to ask questions when unsure
  • The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physically active, quick learner who enjoys practical hands-on work
  • You must be able to pass a CAT1 pre-employment medical assessment (highest safety criticality)
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including night shift, overnights and callouts once fully trained
