About the role | Mō te tūranga

We are currently seeking Trainee or Phlebotomist candidates for our Ashburton location. This is a casual position with variable hours.

The successful candidates will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Training will be provided for the right applicants, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or grow their career in healthcare within a supportive and professional team.

About you | He kōrero mōu

To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.
  • Customer focus and commitment to providing a high quality of service to internal and external customers with effective interpersonal skills.
  • A sound knowledge of medical terminology, laboratory operations including safety, operation of equipment and hands-on practical experience is desirable, but not essential.
  • Diploma in Applied Science, or a Bachelor of Science would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Registration with the Medical Science Council and an Annual Practising Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician in Patient Services is desirable, but not essential.
  • A valid New Zealand full or restricted driver’s license.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
