Job summary

DuluxGroup Ltd. in Auckland is seeking a customer-focused retail assistant to build relationships with trade and DIY customers, provide product recommendations, and help customers complete their projects.

You will work across New Lynn and nearby stores, assist with stock, merchandising, and safety procedures, and contribute to a welcoming, high-service environment.

Responsibilities

• Mix and tint paint accurately while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Process transactions, invoices, and orders with accuracy.
• Assist with stock management, merchandising, and maintaining an organised store environment.
• Support a safety-focused culture and follow company procedures.

What You'll Be Doing

• Building strong relationships with trade and DIY customers and providing outstanding service every day
• Providing product recommendations, colour advice, and practical solutions to help customers complete their projects
• Supporting store sales growth through customer engagement, upselling opportunities, and promoting our products and services
• Mixing and tinting paint accurately while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Processing sales transactions, invoices, and customer orders with a high level of accuracy
• Assisting with stock management, merchandising, and maintaining an organised and welcoming store environment
• Supporting a culture of safety and ensuring all tasks are completed in line with company procedures

This is afull timerole based across our New Lynn and nearby stores, you will float between the stores depending on requirements.

What We're Looking For

• A customer-focused individual who enjoys building relationships and delivering exceptional service
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with a wide range of customers
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and desire to develop new skills
• Someone who takes pride in their work and has excellent attention to detail
• A team player who can work independently and contribute to a busy store environment
• Previous experience in retail, customer service, trade, hospitality, or sales is advantageous but not essential
• Physically fit and capable of safely lifting paint products up to 25kg
