Job summary

Role Description

The Trade Assistant is a part-time, on-site role based in Tauranga, supporting the daily operations of a busy trade-focused environment. This position involves assisting customers at the trade counter, providing product information and guidance, and processing sales transactions accurately. The Trade Assistant will help maintain stock levels, organize and replenish merchandise, and ensure the trade area is clean, safe and well-presented. The role also includes preparing orders, handling basic tools and equipment, and working closely with the team to meet service and productivity targets. The Trade Assistant is expected to contribute to a positive, safety-focused workplace and deliver consistent, high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Strong Customer Service and Communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a diverse range of customers.
• Effective Interpersonal Skills to collaborate with team members and build positive, respectful working relationships.
• Practical knowledge of Trading environments and familiarity with trade products or industrial supplies.
• Comfortable using Power Tools and hand tools safely, with a commitment to following health and safety procedures.
• Basic numeracy and computer skills for handling point-of-sale systems, inventory tasks and documentation.
• Ability to work on-site in Tauranga, including standing for extended periods and performing light manual handling as required.
• Previous experience in retail, trade, or warehouse environments is advantageous but not essential.
