Job summary

Downer is seeking a Temporary Traffic Management Designer in Auckland to support telecoms and utility corridors. You will develop TMPs, TMDs and accompanying risk assessments, ensuring timely approvals and safe delivery for road users and workers.

You will collaborate with planning and field teams, apply NZ regulations, and manage design records while delivering risk‑aware, practical solutions under deadline pressure.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to produce TMPs, TMDs and risk assessments for telecoms or utilities corridors.
• Experience aligning TMPs with approval processes and authorities.
• Understanding of road geometry and safety requirements for traffic management.

Responsibilities

• Produce, review and amend TMPs and TMDs within delegated authority.
• Design practical traffic management controls for fibre, copper, trenching and cable works.
• Complete risk assessments considering traffic, sight distance, and site constraints.
• Submit documentation and respond to queries from approving authorities.
