Job summary

Pole Timber & Hardware Ltd, a timber merchant and hardware supplier based in Manukau, is hiring a full-time yardman. You will serve customers, process timber orders and help stock the yard and store while adhering to safety practices. Prior forklift experience is a plus, training can be provided, and physical fitness is important for heavy lifting.

You will join a team that values service and teamwork. Hours are typically Mon-Fri 7am–5pm, with Saturdays 7am–12pm on a roster.

Qualifications

• Forklift license is an advantage but training may be provided.
• Knowledge of the construction industry is an advantage.
• Must be physically fit as heavy lifting is part of the role.
• Great communication skills are essential for working with trade customers.

Pole Timber & Hardware Ltd is a timber merchant and manufacturer of prenail frames and trusses based in Manukau. We have been supplying the residential construction industry for over 30 years and we need more staff to keep up with demand.

We are looking for an enthusiastic yardman to join our dynamic team. If you are keen to learn about the building industry and its products, plus you have an awesome customer service presence or are just great with people, this is the job for you.

Duties include:

• Serving customers and fulfilling timber orders
• Re-stocking timber yard and hardware store
• Unloading inwards goods
• Competitive starting rate
• Great team environment with a company that looks after its staff

About you:

• Forklift license an advantage but not necessary as training can be given
• Knowledge of the construction industry an advantage
• Must be physically fit as heavy lifting is part of the role
• Great communication skills are essential as you will be working closely with our trade customers

This is a full-time position, based in Manukau:
Monday - Friday: 7am - 5pm
Saturday: 7am - 12pm (rostered)
