Job summary

Mitre 10 Onehunga is seeking a reliable, customer‑focused individual to join our Timber Yard Team. This full‑time, permanent role covers Sunday–Thursday, with physical work and stock handling both indoors and outdoors.

You will work with the Trade and Dispatch teams, delivering friendly service and clear communication while contributing to a supportive, down‑to‑earth team environment. Forklift training support is provided for those willing to learn.

Qualifications

• Physically fit for lifting, carrying and loading tasks.
• Friendly, professional customer service and clear communication.
• Able to work independently and in a team, with a flexible attitude toward learning forklift training.

Responsibilities

• Support the Trade and Dispatch teams with stock handling and customer service.
• Assist in indoors and outdoors environments, handling varying timber sizes.

We need a reliable, customer‑focused individual to join our Timber Yard Team. If you enjoy dealing with timber and timber products, hands‑on work, and giving great customer service — this could be the perfect role for you

This is a full‑time, permanent position working Sunday-Thursday

About The Role

A challenging but rewarding role, you will be working with the Trade and Dispatch teams. The role involves physical work, both indoors and outdoors, so being comfortable handling stock of various sizes is important

In turn, you will enjoy variety, job satisfaction and being part of a supportive and down-to-earth team

What You Will Bring

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a good level of physical fitness for lifting, carrying, loading
• Enjoys providing friendly, professional customer service
• Communicates clearly
• Works well both independently and as part of a team
• Has a full, clean driver licence with F endorsement or forklift experience will be advantageous. However, if you have a full licence and a willingness to learn we will happily support you through forklift licence training

You will be able to bring a drive and energy to get the job done right. Previous customer service experience and/or building and timber knowledge would be an advantage but a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn are what matter most
