Job summary

Mitre 10 MEGA NewLynn in Auckland is hiring for a permanent, full-time Timber Yard/Trade Counter role. You will handle daily order picking, forklift duties, and customer support across Timber and Trade counters. The job requires practical timber knowledge and a hands-on approach in a busy store environment.

You will work around 40 hours weekly with early starts, late finishes, and weekend shifts. Training and development are provided within Riviera group offerings.

Qualifications

• Current forklift licence required; forklift experience is highly desirable.
• Full New Zealand driver licence is required, with support to obtain an F endorsement if needed.
• Practical timber and building product knowledge.
• Experience in building supplies, construction, or trade environment preferred.
• Strong numerical skills and ability to calculate quantities.
• Clear, practical communication and strong customer service focus.
• Physically capable of demanding work and safe lifting.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week including early starts, late finishes and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Picking, packing, and fulfilling trade orders accurately.
• Operating a forklift safely to move timber and other materials.
• Assisting trade and retail customers with timber and building products.
• Providing practical product advice and solutions.
• Processing orders using computer systems and trade-related software.
• Coordinating customer collections and deliveries.
• Replenishing stock and maintaining merchandising standards.
• Keeping the TradeCounter and Timber Yard safe, tidy, and organised.
• Supporting all areas of the department as required.
