Job summary

Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Gisborne invites applications from an experienced Theatre senior nurse/leader to join our Perioperative Team on a permanent, 0.9FTE basis. This role leads the Theatre and PACU teams to ensure safe, efficient care.

You will work in a small, friendly multidisciplinary unit, supporting clinical excellence, teaching, and service improvement, with a focus on equity and responsiveness for our community in Gisborne.

Qualifications

• Theatre experience of 5 years or greater.
• Postgraduate study evidenced; PGDipN or PGDipHS preferred.
• Senior nurse portfolio is desirable.
• Leadership experience required.
• Currently working within the NZ Health System.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Theatre and PACU teams to deliver safe, planned and unplanned care.
• Provide clinical leadership within the Perioperative Services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain high quality care.
• Support professional development and continuous improvement.

About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a current Theatre senior nurse/ leader to join our Perioperative Team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop your skills and experience within a small, friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team. No two days are ever the same.

This role is one of 2 Theatre ACNMs that lead the Theatre and PACU teams to provide for the efficient and safe delivery of planned and unplanned care.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Theatre experience 5 years or greater
• Essential you have evidence of post graduate study and preferable you have a PGDipN or PGDipHS
• Desirable for you to have a Proficient or Senior nurse portfolio
• Must have leadership experience
• Currently working within the NZ Health System
