Job description

There is a lot happening at Orion, and that success depends on strong digital systems and trusted technology. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Test Lead reporting to our Head of Digital Delivery & Project Office.

This is a role for someone who loves both the craft of testing and the art of engagement and collaboration. Are you someone who's comfortable talking test frameworks and automation as well as connecting with people and leading through influence and change?

The role

  • Lead the testing strategy, planning and execution across digital initiatives
  • Build and continuously improve testing frameworks, standards and tools while developing structure and best-practices
  • Oversee testing phases from design through to user acceptance ensuring valuable quality outcomes
  • Act as a trusted advisor - sharing expertise and ensuring we embed a "test early, test often" mindset that builds resilience and reliability
  • Provide visibility on test progress, risks and quality metrics to ensure we make informed, confident decisions
  • Work collaboratively across the business ensuring quality and deliverables remain aligned across complex projects

About you

  • Previous experience in a Test Lead, software testing and quality assurance role within a complex environment with a relevant qualification
  • Ability to adapt a testing approach to suit the context and environment with a variety of testing methodologies
  • Strong planning, risk-based testing, and defect management skills with a methodical and pragmatic approach
  • Familiarity with test automation and environment management and how automation supports quality, efficiency and scalability
  • Excellent collaboration, communication and stakeholder engagement skills where your transparency and judgement build trusted strong relationships
  • A positive mindset that blends structure with flexibility bringing a calm, solution-orientated approach
