About This Role

Xe is seeking an Intermediate Test Engineer to join our team on a fixed term contract to provide maternity leave cover.

This role offers an exciting opportunity with a focus on test automation, primarily for APIs, with some involvement in front-end automation. However, automation is just one aspect—your work will also include manual testing, defect management, and documentation to support product quality.

We’re looking for a self-motivated, proactive individual who values clear communication and collaboration to achieve success.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive testing across APIs, web applications, Windows clients, and mobile platforms
• Develop and maintain automated tests for C# and JavaScript applications
• Establish and maintain strong relationships, ensuring clear and effective communication at all levels
• Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations while maintaining best practices
• Apply best practices and processes in quality assurance within your team and across our global teams
  
  

Position Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Recent experience scripting in a programming language (e.g. JavaScript, C#)
• Experience with automated testing frameworks
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly
• API testing expertise, with hands-on experience using API testing tools (e.g. Postman)
• Proficiency in source control systems (e.g. Git) and experience working with build pipelines
• Strong systems analysis and troubleshooting skills
• A collaborative mindset for diagnosing and resolving testing challenges
• Experience working in an Agile environment, with a commitment to continuous improvement
• Effective time management and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
• Thorough understanding of functional and non-functional testing principles
  
  

Desirable Experience & Skills

• Competence in SQL query writing and understanding relational databases
• Familiarity with continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Exposure to performance testing
• Hands-on experience in a .NET development environment
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Background in the Finance domain, particularly in Foreign Exchange
