You’ll

  • Champion a test-driven culture and support Lotto NZ's shift towards smarter, more automated testing practices.
Your Team / Tō Rōpū

You’ll be joining a collaborative Software Engineering team that plays a key role in delivering reliable, high-quality digital experiences for Lotto NZ customers. Working closely with developers, testers, architects, and delivery teams, you'll help embed automation and quality engineering practices across the software delivery lifecycle. The team is focused on continuous improvement, modern engineering practices, and finding smarter ways to deliver quality at speed.

As our Test Automation Engineer, you'll be at the centre of our journey towards increased automation, helping shape frameworks, improve CI/CD processes, and build confidence in every release. It's a role where you'll have the opportunity to influence how quality is delivered, explore new technologies, and contribute to solutions that support our 24/7 digital services.

  • The team works in a flexible, hybrid way, balancing in-office collaboration with time to focus at home.
  • It's a supportive team where people share ideas openly and help each other learn and grow.
How We Work In Tech
  • We work in a collaborative, supportive way where everyone has a voice.
  • You’ll be part of a team that shares ideas openly, works closely across roles, and focuses on delivering outcomes rather than hierarchy.
  • We use modern practices and tools, and we’re always looking for ways to improve how we work — whether that’s simplifying processes, trying new approaches, or learning from each other.
A bit about you / He kōrero mōu:

As an experienced Test Automation Engineer, you'll be passionate about delivering quality software and finding smarter ways to improve how products are tested and released. You enjoy solving problems, working collaboratively, and using automation to create better outcomes for customers and teams alike.

You’ll Bring
  • Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with modern test automation tools and practices across web, mobile, and API testing.
  • Solid programming skills and a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments and partnering effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A pragmatic approach to quality, with the ability to balance risk, speed, and customer impact.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset that helps teams succeed together.
  • We recognise that skills and experience can be gained in many ways, including through education, paid and unpaid work, mahi aroha (volunteering), local churches, marae, community groups, and other life experiences.
