Beca Limited in Auckland is seeking an experienced software test engineer to join our Beca Digital team. You will deliver testing and automation outcomes within a cross-functional scrum team, building Playwright-based test automation suites in Azure DevOps and supporting CI/CD pipelines.

You’ll champion quality, share knowledge, and evolve test engineering practices as we deliver cloud-based platforms for diverse clients.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software testing experience with a foundation in test automation.
• Strong knowledge of functional and non-functional testing, test planning, reporting, and manual exploratory testing.
• Proven experience with Playwright and Azure DevOps.

You will be working collaboratively with our internal teams to deliver a range of software solutions to our diverse customer base. This role will leverage your test engineering skills in a real-world setting, as a key contributor to the delivery of new and existing Beca digital projects, both in New Zealand and globally. You will be comfortable sharing your knowledge and expertise and helping the team to grow their testing capability. With a broad range of software solutions in play, the ability to switch focus and prioritise work is a must. At Beca Digital, we believe in innovation and encourage diversity of thought. We invite applicants from a range of backgrounds with the following experience, skills, and attributes:

• 4+ years of software testing experience with a foundation in test automation
• Thorough knowledge of the principles of functional and non-functional testing, test planning and reporting, test design, test case writing and maintenance and manual exploratory testing
• Strong knowledge and proved experience in Playwright and Azure DevOps
• Experience using source control tools such as GIT and managing test environment configurations
• Experience in reporting, investigating, triage and tracking bugs
• Experience of DevOps practices, continuous integration, delivery including CI / CD test pipelines and test failure observability
• An Agile and open mindset, able to consider new ideas and approaches to complex situations
• A focus on outcomes and a proven problem-solving ability
• Proactive, flexible, and comfortable with ambiguity
• Great communication skills with the ability to build meaningful and collaborative relationships across various levels of a business

In addition, knowledge and experience across the following is not critical, however would be beneficial:

• Microsoft Azure platform
