Job description

Technology Teacher, Secondary and Primary Y7-13

Full-time, Permanent position as a certificated teacher in an Area / composite (Years 1–15) setting.

The role involves teaching technology across secondary and primary Y7-13, with a focus on 0.6 technology delivery and 0.4 other curriculum expertise.

This position offers the opportunity to develop and lead technology in an Area School, creating technology opportunities, local curriculum, and vocational pathways for students. Essential skills include expertise in hard materials, digital technology, and the ability to teach across technology mediums.

Akaroa Area School provides a supportive team environment, great students, small class sizes, and a wonderful outdoor environment. The school also offers staff accommodation options, with a schoolhouse possibly available if required.

The position commences term 1, 2026 or as soon as possible, with negotiation.
