About Plimmerton School

Plimmerton School’s well-equipped Technology Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable technology teacher to join our specialist team. We deliver practical learning experiences across multiple disciplines (including hard materials, foods, soft materials, and digital technologies) to our own Y7-8 students and those from six local primary schools.

Responsibilities
  • Connects genuinely: You understand the individual strengths and needs of students, inspiring them to take risks and grow in a safe, supportive setting.
  • Creates a positive environment: You establish a positive, inclusive classroom where students feel challenged, supported, and actively engaged in project-based learning.
  • Is Highly collaborative: You will work closely with our supportive Technology Centre team (foods, digital, hard/soft materials) to ensure a high-quality, seamless program. Collaboration and shared success are key to this role.
  • Manages complex logistics: You are highly organised, skilled in managing resources, equipment, and safety procedures for multiple groups of visiting students each day.
  • Communicates professionally: You are the face of our Technology Centre to our client schools and wider community. Strong, approachable, and professional communication skills are essential for successful engagement and reporting.
  • Holds specialist expertise: You possess experience and expertise in teaching one or more technology curriculum strands. We encourage applications from teachers who specialise in hard materials, foods, or digital technologies, but all specialist areas will be considered.
