We’re seeking a Technical Trainer to join the technical team in Palmerston North. If you’re passionate about the automotive industry and love sharing your knowledge to help others grow, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

The Role

As a Technical Trainer, you’ll be responsible for delivering engaging and effective technical training to technicians across our store network, Toyota New Zealand employees, and key stakeholders. You’ll play a key role in developing the skills and knowledge of our people, ensuring they stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the Toyota NZ technical training curriculum, including theory, practical sessions, and assessments.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, including e-learning modules and online lessons.
  • Prepare and deliver New Car Features training and Technical Skills Competitions.
  • Maintain training workshops and ensure all tools, materials, and vehicles are up to standard.
  • Provide feedback and reporting to students and service managers for post-training.
  • Stay up to date with the latest automotive technologies and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure training aligns with business needs.
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in the automotive industry or a background in technical training. (Technical Trade / Service Management)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A passion for teaching and sharing knowledge.
  • Professional appearance and a proactive, positive attitude.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Full, clean NZ Driver’s License.
