About the Technical Coordinator Role:

Staying at the top of our game and meeting those high standards is our top priority here at Tegel therefore our Technical systems need to be continually running at optimum levels. Achieving this, takes a highly skilled team to help hold us to those standards and stay number one in our industry.

We are seeking a Technical Coordinator to oversee all quality, compliance and food safety operations at our Christchurch plant.

This is a role that will require you to work across the Christchurch site where you will have responsibility for animal welfare, food safety, quality and building strong relationships with auditors. The key to your success in this role will be your ability to influence, foster teamwork, and build relationships with people at all levels of our complex business.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve non-conformances while conducting internal audits, verification tasks, performing technical analysis and report writing
  • Lead food safety, quality, and technical projects, ensuring the successful implementation of new products and initiatives.
  • Administer technical systems and support the sites RMP, QMS, GFSI certification, and customer compliance requirements.
  • Organise and execute daily technical tasks related to food safety, quality, compliance, and animal welfare.
  • Foster a strong quality culture across the site by driving continuous improvement and corrective actions.

The Essentials for Success

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills alongside a proactive, 'can-do' attitude.
  • Ability to interpret food safety, quality, compliance, and animal welfare issues and propose and implement solutions.
  • Effective communication skills with a high level of accuracy in processing written information.
  • Tertiary qualification in Food Technology or Food Science with 1+ years' experience in quality assurance or compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical/reporting skills.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Risk Management Programmes (RMP) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Knowledge of introductory HACCP and familiarity with GFSI programmes and Customer food safety requirements.
  • Experience in internal auditing.
  • Knowledge of animal health and welfare regulations.
