Job summary

Mitre 10 Crofton Downs is seeking a customer-focused Team Member for our Power Tools & Hardware department. You will help customers choose the right products, keep the department well presented and stocked, and support other store areas as needed.

The role emphasizes friendly, knowledgeable service, strong stock management, and safety, with a part-time 8 hours per week schedule on Sundays from 9:00am to 5:30pm.

Qualifications

• Experience in hardware retail or similar customer-facing roles preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to learn products, systems, and processes quickly.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service with product advice and tailored solutions.
• Maintain department presentation, pricing accuracy, and promotional displays.
• Ensure stock availability through replenishment and reserve stock management.
• Assist customers using store systems to check product availability and pricing.
• Support sales growth via upselling and cross-selling of products and services.
• Assist with price changes, markdowns, stock movements and departmental standards.
• Collaborate with other departments during busy trading periods and operational needs.
• Provide checkout assistance and support front-end operations as required.
• Maintain high Health & Safety standards and keep the department clean and safe.
• Complete required training and develop product knowledge across Power Tools & Hardware.

At Mitre 10 Crofton Downs, we’re looking for a customer focused Team Member to join our Power Tools & Hardware department.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys helping customers bring their projects to life while delivering exceptional service and maintaining high standards across the store. In this role, you’ll provide friendly, knowledgeable advice, help customers find the right products and solutions, and ensure the department is well presented, fully stocked, and ready to inspire our customers. The role also requires flexibility to support other areas of the store when needed.

As a Team Member, you’ll play a key role in supporting the operation of the Power Tools & Hardware departments, with accountability for:

• Delivering exceptional customer service by providing product advice, tailored solutions, and helping customers complete their projects.
• Maintaining department presentation, merchandising standards, pricing accuracy, ticketing, and promotional displays.
• Ensuring stock availability through replenishment, stock top-ups, and retrieving products from reserve stock.
• Assisting customers by using store systems and devices to check product availability, locations, pricing, and suitable alternatives.
• Supporting sales growth by identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell complementary products and services.
• Assisting with price changes, markdowns, stock movements, and maintaining accurate department standards.
• Working collaboratively with other departments to provide support during busy trading periods and operational requirements.
• Providing assistance at checkouts and supporting front-end operations when required.
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety by identifying hazards, following safe work practices, and ensuring the department remains clean, organised, and safe.
• Completing required training and continually developing product knowledge across Power Tools & Hardware, and wider store ranges.
• Supporting other departments as required to meet operational needs.

• Previous retail or customer service experience, ideally within hardware, trade, or home improvement.
