We are seeking an enthusiastic, inspiring and experienced educator to join us and lead our Y5–6 teaching team from term 1, 2026. We are looking for someone who has a great sense of humour, is passionate about making a positive difference, is empathetic and has the ability to lead a team of dedicated teachers. This position comes with two permanent management units that reflect the responsibility of the role. Leadership of MITEY Mental Health Programming and Learning Through Play is an advantage.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be an active member of the leadership team
  • Support high-quality, responsive teaching and learning
  • Guide collaborative team planning and inquiry
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives and strategic goals
  • Mentor and support emerging leaders in your team
  • Role model inclusive and culturally responsive practice
  • Provide appropriate support in the management of student behaviour
  • Monitor team’s student progress and achievement, student welfare, planning, assessment and reporting
  • Provide professional leadership within the team and guide collaborative team planning and Inquiry
  • Encourage shared leadership, collective responsibility, and collaborative problem solving
  • Use evidence-informed practices to raise student achievement and engagement across the curriculum
  • Model inclusive practices, promoting hauora (wellbeing) and a positive team culture
  • Communicate vision, expectations, and feedback in ways that empower and inspire others
