Job summary

SYOS Aerospace is seeking a Mechatronics and Electrical Team Lead to head a multidisciplinary group delivering advanced subsystems for autonomous vehicles. You will design electrical architectures, power electronics, control systems, and embedded hardware, guiding prototyping and testing across multiple projects.

You will collaborate with software, mechanical, and flight teams to ensure robust integration while upholding aerospace safety and EMC standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering (or related).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechatronic/electrical systems design.
• 2+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role.
• Deep understanding of embedded systems, PCB design, control systems, and actuators/sensors.
• Proficient in Altium, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with power management, motor control (brushed/brushless), and UAV or robotic systems.
• Comfortable working in a startup-style environment— fast-paced, agile, and solutions-driven.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of electrical and mechatronics engineers.
• Design architecture and integration of electrical systems, power electronics, control systems, and embedded hardware.
• Plan and manage team deliverables across multiple projects.
• Guide rapid prototyping and testing of electromechanical subsystems.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and flight teams for seamless integration.
• Implement best practices for design, documentation, testing, and validation.
• Ensure electrical systems comply with safety standards, aerospace/military specs, and EMC guidelines.
