Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Christchurch, Dorset
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Start Date: Immediate / After Summer 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

GSL Education are on the lookout for a friendly and helpful Teaching Assistant (TA) to join us in a primary school in Christchurch! This is your chance to be a real star in the classroom, helping students learn and grow. You'll work alongside teachers to make lessons fun, give extra help to students in small groups or one-on-one, and make sure everyone feels happy and supported. Your support will help students gain confidence, develop new skills, and enjoy their learning journey.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Team up with teachers to create fun and engaging lessons for primary pupils.
  • Support students in their learning journey, boosting confidence and developing skills.
  • Provide tailored support, whether one-on-one or in small groups, to those who need extra help.
  • Build an inclusive and encouraging classroom environment where all students feel welcome.
  • Help maintain classroom organisation, behaviour, and lesson preparation.
  • Keep students motivated and actively engaged in their learning.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to help students improve.
  • Support during school activities, including break times, trips, and special events.
  • Work closely with teachers and staff to make learning enjoyable and accessible.

We're Looking For:

  • Experience working in a school setting, ideally with primary-aged children.
  • SEN experience is an added bonus, especially in supporting students with additional needs.
  • University students are encouraged to apply, particularly those studying education, psychology, or child development.
  • A true passion for helping children grow and succeed.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to adapt your approach to meet different learning needs.
  • A recent CV (covering the last 10 years with no gaps).
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
