Putāruru Primary School, a vibrant and community-focused kura in the South Waikato, is seeking two passionate, reflective, and relationship-centred teachers to join our team in 2026. We’re a school that values ako, whanaungatanga, and excellence for every ākonga. Our localised curriculum focuses on strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, culturally sustaining practice, and learning that connects to who our tamariki are and where they come from.

We’re looking for teachers who:

  • Build powerful learning partnerships with tamariki and whānau
  • Use assessment deliberately to guide next learning steps
  • Deliver explicit, structured teaching that meets diverse needs
  • Thrive in collaborative team environments and contribute to kura-wide initiatives

Strengths in literacy and numeracy are valued — we’d also love to hear about your passions, whether that’s te reo Māori, sport, the arts, or digital learning.

We offer:

  • A collegial, supportive team with clear systems for planning and release
  • Ongoing PLD and coaching designed around your growth

A well-resourced, friendly environment with a community that truly backs its kura.
