Job summary

Responsible to: Syndicate Leader / Deputy Principal

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess mathematics programmes across junior and senior levels.
  • Prepare students for success in NCEA Mathematics.
  • Foster problem-solving skills and mathematical thinking.
  • Serve as a whānau / Pastoral Teacher, building relationships and supporting the holistic needs of students.
  • Contribute to the school’s numeracy initiatives and cross-curricular projects.

Key tasks

  • Teach mathematics at a range of levels, differentiating for ability.
  • Develop engaging lessons using real-world contexts and digital tools.
  • Provide timely feedback and monitor student progress.
  • Prepare students for both internal and external NCEA assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practice and resources.

Guide, mentor, and track progress of whānau class students, maintaining regular contact with families.

Start term 1, 2026.
