Overview

St Peter\'s College is a high performing Y7–13 school situated in Gore, Southland. We are a small school that provides our students with a rich and engaging curriculum. As a school we value continuous learning, using effective pedagogy and collaborate to provide our students with the best learning opportunities that we can. In 2024 we had the highest pass rates in Southland for NCEA Level 2, 3 and University Entrance. We are seeking a teacher to join our college for the start of 2026 who is passionate to support our students within the English department.

The ability to teach both junior and senior English would be an advantage. Please state your other teaching areas.

We are looking for a candidate who is committed to teaching excellence in English across year levels, with a willingness to contribute to the school community and its character.

Responsibilities
  • Teach English to junior and senior students (Y7–13) as part of the English department.
  • Support and contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and ongoing professional learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide engaging, high-quality learning opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Current New Zealand practising certificate.
  • Current work visa.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school.
  • Ability to teach both junior and senior English; please indicate any other teaching areas.

This is a permanent full-time position and is open to both experienced and beginning teachers.
