Job description

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher

We seek an enthusiastic educator to teach in our well-resourced English Faculty, starting at the beginning of 2026. A passion for literacy and literature is essential, as is NCEA experience. Working with a supportive Head of Learning, this could suit either a beginning teacher or someone with leadership experience or aspirations.

You will work with a dedicated and supportive team, who will share your commitment to learner engagement and achievement. You will be well supported through the current curriculum changes, and encouraged in your own professional growth through our school's Professional Learning and Development programme, and with strong support for external opportunities.

This is an exciting time to join our college as we respond to our recent curriculum review, embedding school-wide approaches to raising literacy, culturally responsive pedagogy and enhancing mana ōrite mō te Mātauranga Māori. We pride ourselves on our teaching philosophy to "know and grow" our learners within a "warm and demanding" culture. As a member of our staff, you will embody our values and character - Āhuatanga Whangaparāoa - and work to ensure every young person achieves their personal excellence.
